The Phoenix Hub applied to the Community Asset Fund and were awarded £2000 to establish their project.
Miffy Clegg of Community CVS visited the Phoenix Hub last Thursday. Sandra showed her around the building and told her about some of the amazing work they have been doing. The Hub is accessible to anyone who wishes to get support and they turn nobody away. The whole of the building has a homely vibe that feels welcoming for anyone who visits.
The Phoenix Hub is a calm safe warm environment where people can go and get support from multiple agencies in one go. People are able to get a warm brew and a nice cooked breakfast. There are shower facilities in the building for anyone to use and clean towels and toiletries are provided. The Hub also gives out fresh clean clothing to those who request them and they can also leave there washing there and the volunteers will do the washing for the beneficiaries.
Some of the services that can be engaged with while at the Hub are as follows: –
- Food Bank referrals;
- Changing Futures – supporting people with multiple disadvantages;
- Polish support group;
- Shelter – advice and support;
- Great Places – advice and support with housing issues;
- European union settlement status – support with passports etc.;
- Blood-Borne Viruses Screening;
- Spark – drug and alcohol support;
- Brook- sexual advisory service.

- Tuesday 9-12
- Wednesday 9-4
- Thursday 12-4

The Phoenix Hub is heavily attended, the number engagements this month is 1,680 and the number of beneficiaries attending the project is growing.
