Many thanks to BAM Construction Ltd., who are one of the many fantastic local businesses and organisations sponsoring this year’s Community Volunteer Awards.
We recently caught up with BAM’s Katie Tilyard, who stressed the importance of volunteering to BAM’s business and the communities they operate in. Please read on to learn more about BAM Construction Ltd.
Please tell us a little about yourself and your organisation:
BAM operates in the construction, property, civil engineering, public private partnerships, mechanical and electrical contracting and consultancy engineering sectors.
We believe buildings are for people. And creating and maintaining a building is both a human and a technical challenge. That’s what drives us.
In the Northwest we have just built Coop-Live Arena, Blackburn Victoria Building as well as many other significant projects.
Why do you think Volunteering is important and what do you think are the benefits to the community/individual?
Volunteering is essential to the way we do business at BAM to support the communities we are building in. In many instances we would not be able to facilitate the fantastic work in the community with volunteers supporting VCSE organisations. Volunteering is central to us leaving a sustainable legacy for communities.
Why do you think its important to support the Community Volunteer Awards?
CVAs are an important opportunity for us to celebrate the amazing work happening in and around Blackburn with Darwen. We are proud to sponsor all the hard work that has been happening in the community and at this event.
