Carers Week is coming up next week (between Monday 10th and Sunday 16th June).
Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.
Locally, the wonderful Blackburn with Darwen Carers Service are holding an event on Wednesday 12th June to launch the new BwD Carers Strategy, with a keynote speech by Mark Warren, Strategic Director Adults and Health Services at BwD Borough Council.
