The Blackburn Over 50s Group provide a friendly warm welcoming environment for people to come together, connect with other and make new friendships.
Their youngest member is in their 70s! Their aim is to bring elderly people together so that they are not isolated and alone in their homes. They are a volunteer run group and everyone who attends is welcome to get involved and help out in the running of our sessions.
The Group meet up once a month for a few hours. People can enjoy refreshments and speak to other members. They hire guest speakers to come and speak on topics that they feel members will enjoy.
The Group also arranges local meals out, and recently put on a free Christmas meal at Scholars for attendees.
They meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at Lammack Methodist Church to enjoy refreshments and listen to the topic speaker.
They would love for people to spread the word about the Group so they can attract more attendees.
They welcome anyone over the age of 50 to attend sessions. You do not need to book you can just turn up.
