Many thanks to everyone who attended and gave apologies for March’s Community Network Quarterly Meeting.
Those in attendance heard from Vicky Shepherd, Chair of the CN, on the new process for ensuring VCFSE representation on Boards, and from Garth Hodgkinson on upcoming work to determine the State of the Sector locally.
There was also a fantastic presentation from Alison Abbott on the new WorkWell pilot, which aims to help people with physical and mental health needs get into and stay in work.
Angela Allen, whose new charity BAGS for Strife provides practical and emotional support for those dealing with a loved one taking their own life, provided an update on the work of the Lancashire and South Cumbria VCFSE Alliance, and Angela Dixon updated attendees on Integrated Neighbourhood Inclusion. Garth gave brief presentations on Volunteering for Health and the Civil Society Covenant.
Unfortunately, the Youth Investment Fund presentation did not go ahead as planned and instead has been rescheduled for a future meeting.
