UCO (Uniting Communities Org) is a volunteer-led umbrella organisation which runs both Little Harwood and Accrington Road Community Centres, enabling the local communities to have access to top-class community facilities and services.

The Interfaith Forum is a long-standing local organisation which works to build friendship, understanding and strong links between different faith communities in Blackburn with Darwen, thereby enhancing social inclusion and community cohesion.
The Renee Black Integration Award was set up in memory of Renee Black, a member of the Jewish community and stalwart of the Interfaith Forum, as a way to honour her work promoting the organisation’s objectives.

Newground Together works across Pennine Lancashire and in the Calderdale area of Yorkshire with the aim of creating better opportunities and enhancing the lives of local communities, with a particular focus on providing opportunities for environmental engagement, employability and training.

This year, we are so grateful to be able offer award winners holiday vouchers courtesy of Room to Reward. Room to Reward is a charity created to reward inspirational volunteers by allocating unsold hotel rooms donated by their partner hotels (and a holiday park) to enable outstanding volunteers and community workers to enjoy a free break.

Age UK Blackburn with Darwen offer a wide range of expert services for older people and their carers, including advice and information, care, social inclusion and cognitive stimulation therapy to address memory loss and dementia.

VOICE are a volunteer-led organisation who work closely with Community CVS to provide services to those affected by homelessness, poverty and drug/alcohol misuse. They provide free breakfasts every Saturday morning.
In particular, they are associated with the Lindsay Dunn Award, which was set up to honour the memory of Lindsay Dunn, a tireless volunteer and advocate for those in need, who was instrumental in developing VOICE and its service provision.

The Wish Centre (Blackburn & Darwen District without Abuse) provide services to those affected by domestic abuse, including support, advice and accommodation, working with victims and their families to ensure the safety of those affected by domestic abuse and helping support their development.

Active Lancashire – the strategic lead for Sport and Physical Activity across Lancashire – work in close collaboration with local organisations and individuals to enable and enhance active lifestyles through the provision of opportunities for members of our communities to participate in sport and physical activity.
