We are looking for dedicated volunteers who can give a few hours a week to support people from Asylum Seeking backgrounds to access volunteer roles who would otherwise struggle to do so.

We’re offering volunteer managers in Preston an opportunity to gain a wide range of necessary skills, with the chance to gain our esteemed Quality Mark.

The training takes place over three sessions, with the next coming up on Tuesday 21st January, Tuesday 4th February and Tuesday 18th February.

Our Volunteering Essentials Training is tailored to the needs of volunteers, to enable you to get the most out of your volunteering.

The next tranche takes place over three days: Monday 27th January (Introduction to Volunteering); Tuesday 28th January (Volunteering Safely); and Monday 3rd February (Communcation & Interpersonal Skills).

Preston Volunteers are out and about in the community, helping people start there volunteering journey throughout the week. Here is our updated schedule. We will be only attending Red Rose Recovery every month now on the first Friday of the month, but you can still find us at:

  • FEDCAP – Every Wednesday 1pm – 3pm
  • Preston Gateway Job Centre – Every Thursday 10am – 12:30pm

We will give you the chance to give help where it is most needed and make a real difference in our community.

The time you give as a volunteer will support you in your own life too: building your skills and experience and boosting your well-being. We offer free training to get you ready for volunteering.

There are so many ways to help, ranging from driving to deliver food to local food banks, using your computer skills to help community groups and charities with websites and social media, working with youth groups and cadets, to spending time outdoors helping to grow vegetables in community gardens.
