Sharon is the Head of Prevention and Wellbeing at Age UK Blackburn with Darwen and came to discuss the UEC Darwen Falls Programme.
CVS are proud to be working in partnership with Age UK Blackburn with Darwen to disseminate grants to Darwen-based community groups who are available to partake in the pilot project.
The Darwen Falls Programme is being delivered by Age UK BwD for adults who are aged 65 and over with a clinical frailty score of 5/6, and encompasses a range of support and interventions to reduce the risk of falling.
Interventions include outreach and engagement, advice on physical activity to enhance strength and balance, holistic assessment and support and access to a dedicated link worker.
